I, Riqz, have come back from my holidays with a task that will take away about 1 year of boredom.

I've always been a fan of old motorbikes. Not just any kind of motorbike... but VESPA'S!! Yay. I convinced my uncle to gief me his old vespa (a 1959 150cc Piaggio Vespa VBA1T), that he never used and i have now decided to make it all new and shiny again and go around like a proper vintage boiii.

Here's a pic of it. I'll keep you updated as the work goes on ^^

edit> my ego wants to ask for a sticky

I haf lots of updates planned.

The first is that I have found out that the seat is not its original. It actually had a more classic "bicycle" style single seat instead of the long "monoseat".
Like this one

It is not the same exact model but the seat design is the same.

I'm going to have to repaint it the Original color if I want it to become a historic vehicle and all. Its a metallic light blue color.

HAHA!

Here are some pics i made today

Front of the Vespa. It is missing the little PIAGGIO symbol in the top middle and a metal VESPA 150 logo on the right side of the "shield"

Rear with a non original rear light. The number plate is original and very vintage:

Motor is rusty but its the only part that only needs minor fixing as it runs perfectly. I'll post a video soon so that you can all hear the beautiful roar:

Front light. It has a bump on it oh noes. But i think i found an original part to replace it already:

The Speed dial is not the right type even though its an original piaggio piece. I need to find the right type. And also i noticed today that it does not show the right speed. Actually it doesnt show speed at all:

Broken little footpanel details that will be fixed:

Think you can restore the plate or going to leave it as it is?

What do you mean by plate?
I'm going to make this Vespa a historical motorbike which means restoring everything original yes. It's going to take a long time but it'll be worth it.
As soon as its all repainted and repieced together without a spec of rust i'll need to call an auditor from the FMI (Italian Motorbike Federation) that will decide, after seeing the vespa if it will become a "moto d'epoca" or a historical bike in english, badly translated i know but i cant think of the word now.

Sorry, I meant number plate. No need to translate for me, remember I grew up with only Italian TV caro Riqz Razz. "Moto d'epoca" would be "Vintage Bike".

Oh definetly going to restore the plate.
The plate alone is worth more than 200 euros. I'll have to straighten some bits of it and take of the rust. Then i'll finely repaint the numbers and borders. It's in a pretty decent state which makes it easier.
And yes vintage bike it is/
